First in-person court since the start of the pandemic.
On Monday, the justices of the Supreme Court returned to the courtroom to begin their new term. It has been 19 months since the justices met in person, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Justice Kavanaugh participated remotely due to a positive COVID-19 test last week. Justice Barrett participated in person for the first time since her confirmation last year.
The court is scheduled to take up several important cases this term that span topics from abortion to gun rights. The court heard arguments on Monday in the cases of Mississippi v. Tennessee to determine if Tennessee is taking Mississippi’s groundwater and Wooden v. United States which seeks to clarify an aspect of the Armed Career Criminal Act.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the Lord to help the Court have wisdom on the best course of action on these cases.
- For God to protect the health of the Justices of the Court.
- For the Lord to guide the Justices to rule according to God’s will.
